At the heart of Alley Gatto is a small team with big hearts. We are artists — dreamers who bring visions to life, and seekers of everyday joy in all its quiet, beautiful forms.

🪴 Megumi

Owner/ Artist, Designer, Maker

Megumi is from a seaside town in Japan. She studied Industrial Design at Parsons in New York, and after graduating, began creating art while working as a designer in NYC. Today, she lives in Naples, Florida, spending her days making things by hand, in the slow and sunny rhythm of coastal life.

Her cozy home studio sits by the beach, where pottery, two cats, and a head full of ideas are always close by. She draws inspiration from everyday moments, gentle tropical breezes, and beautiful experiences gathered through her travels around the world.

With a heart full of arigato, she shapes each piece slowly and intentionally—hoping it brings a bit of calm and joy to someone’s day.

Alley Gatto is her way of sharing the small kindnesses, quiet curiosity, and playful spirit of her everyday life with the world.

🐾 Meet the Cats 🐾

  • 😸 Yoji 

    Studio Cat / Social Media Assistant

    Yoji 🐾 is a 9-year-old gray tabby with a gentle heart and a slightly clumsy charm. He’s also known as a “Hemingway cat” thanks to his extra toes.

    You’ll often find him watching Megumi work (or napping nearby), inspecting shipping boxes (or curling up inside them), and occasionally starring as a model in our designs.

    Calm and kind, Yoji quietly reminds us each day to savor the present moment—just as it is.

  • 😺 Nuke 

    Studio Cat / Studio Supervisor Emeritus

    Nuke 🐾, our 20-year-old brown tabby, is full of curiosity, wisdom, and quiet authority—the wise elder of our home and studio.

    He’s always the first to greet guests, keeps a careful eye on Megumi’s work, and enjoys daily naps in sunny spots. Sometimes, he even takes thoughtful little walks in a harness—like a mindful dog.

    With the grace of a Zen master, Nuke brings a peaceful balance to the studio.

    “Move slowly. Keep going. That, too, is part of creation.”

    Just by being himself, he reminds us of what really matters.

🪴 Megumi

オーナー / アーティスト、デザイナー、メーカー

Megumi（メグミ）は日本出身、ニューヨークのパーソンズ美術大学で工業デザインを学んだのち、NYCでデザイナーとして働きながらアート制作を始めました。現在はフロリダの海辺で、ゆったりとしたリズムの日差しの中、日々ものづくりに励んでいます。

彼女のアトリエ兼住まいはビーチの近くにあり、たくさんのアイディアと二匹の猫に囲まれ日々陶芸やアート制作を楽しんでいます。

日々の美しい瞬間、南国のそよ風、そして世界を旅した体験からインスピレーションをもらいながら、“ありがとう”の気持ちを込めて、心がふっとやわらぐような作品を、ひとつひとつ手作業でかたちにしています。

Alley Gattoは、そんな彼女の毎日から生まれた、小さなやさしさと遊び心を世界へ届けるお店です。

🐾 猫たちの紹介 🐾

  • 😸 ヨージ

    スタジオキャット / SNSマーケティングアシスタント

    ヨージは9歳になるグレーのタビー猫。穏やかでちょっぴりとろく、親指のある “ヘミングウェイ猫” としてもおなじみです。

    いつもMegumiのそばで作業を見守ったり（またはお昼寝したり）、配送用の箱をチェックしたり(または箱に入って寝たり）、ときにはデザインのモデルとして登場することも。

    おっとりしていてやさしいヨージは、「今この瞬間を楽しむこと」の大切さを、毎日そっと教えてくれます。

  • 😺 ニューク 

    スタジオキャット / 名誉スーパーバイザー

    ニュークは20歳のブラウンタビーのニュークは、好奇心と知恵に満ちた、我が家の長老です。

    訪れる人に真っ先にあいさつし、Megumiの仕事ぶりをしっかり監督しながら、日なたでのんびり昼寝を楽しむのが日課。時には犬のようにハーネスをつけてお散歩。まるで禅をマスターしたかのようなその佇まいは、スタジオに穏やかな空気を運んでくれます。

    「ゆっくりと進むこと、続けること、それらも創造の一部なんだよ」
    そんな彼の姿に、いつも大切なことを気づかされます。
